６月７日に書いたこのエントリー、「ネットと人権」の話しが実話になってきた。
Starting next July, every person in Finland will have the right to a one-megabit broadband connection, says the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Finland is the world’s first country to create laws guaranteeing broadband access.フィンランドで来年の７月から１MBのブロードバンドを国民の権利とする予定。まさかこんな早くに実現するとは驚いた。しかも、2015年までに100MBに拡大する予定。
The government had already decided to make a 100 Mb broadband connection a legal right by the end of 2015. On Wednesday, the Ministry announced the new goal as an intermediary step.
Some variation will be allowed, if connectivity can be arranged through mobile phone networks. [via intomobile]
6月のエントリーに、ホームレスがいかに今ネットへのアクセス権を必要としているか書いたばかりだ。福祉国家としてのイメージが強いフィンランドがネットの人権化を最初に導入するとは、最初意外に思えたが、調べてみると実はここ10年でかなり改善されたようだが、フィンランドでは実は自殺者が多く、ホームレスも決して問題ではないと言えない状態だった。
ネットがサービスから、人権へ。世界中に飛び火しそうな動きだな。
